I also had the pleasure of cleaning the gems...which every time I thought I was done, I had to make sure the trumpets didn't have some hidden friend or treasure. In the end, the heavily creamed sauce (anything else would be travesty & sacrilege) was the reward. :)

Happiness in the Forest...
Went this weekend into the forest to gather one of the greatest foods the gods could have come up with...champignon? yes, please! We foraged through the moss & almost fell to our doom to gather the orange & black trumpet tiny pieces of wonderfulness. We also found the storybook version, which was too lovely to disturb. By our side, we had a sweet little assistant that despite his great efforts heard the shouts of "No! Stop!" rather than his deserved "Good boy!" I also appreciated that he was able to climb & descend treacherous paths with little stubby legs way better & more gracefully than I was able. Truly inspirational. :)
